dng file for the completed pano which gives the same processing possibilities as a raw file. I find that I can easily hand hold images for panoramas as long as there are no objects close enough to the camera to require setting up a nodal point for that situation.

It does a fabulous job of merging both single and multirole panoramas. My suggestion is to bite the monthly $9.95 price bullet and go with Lightroom Classic. I know the difference between an F Stop and a Bus StopĬan't imagine why you think anyone would lecture you. BUT, if you have some worthy advice that you would like to share through your own experience…I greatly appreciate it. If you read this post and have a need to lecture me, please don’t bother. I’m still proud of the Photobooks I create that are only seen by friends and family, and the blowups that I frame for my walls. I switched professions to support my family and now only do photography for the love of it. I’ve been doing some form of digital photography since 2002. For many years I supported myself with my camera.

OK…this next paragraph will either make you hate me or love me, but probably nothing in-between.īack in the film days, I was a professional photographer. I don’t mind spending, but would like to keep costs under $100. I did a DPReview forum search and saw a lot of folks recommending Affinity. I would prefer something that just does stitching as I don’t really want to learn a new editing program from scratch, BUT…if the program is good enough and can combine the best of the programs I’m using then I could be persuaded. I’m really looking for a stitching program that can speed up the process and be trustworthy enough so I do not have to repeat steps with ICE or Elements.

The Fill feature has a very good success rate with my images. I Have my technique down, so I have a high percentage of straight images and I always can stitch the panorama with no issues. I will use a tripod when I have a subject that I can plan out, but most of my work is grabbing something I see in the spur of the moment. No Troll Warning – Most of my work is hand held panoramas.

It has a selection of 4 different Motions plus Auto Detect (I usually set it to Rotating Motion as that has a very high success rate). I can add 50 images into a Project and it will have them stitched in roughly a minute. I believe this program is no longer being supported.

Considering the advancements in everything photographic, I’m wondering if there is software out there that can either speed up my processing time and/or make a better end product.įor many years I’ve use two stitching programs. I have a long and repetitive workflow that I have come up with over the years. My recent trip to Belize resulted in 80+ panoramas, and my spring trip to England produced 130+ panoramas. I would estimate that at least 80% of my work requires stitching. Over the last 15 years, I have become a Panorama/Mosaic photographer.

There is a lot of great information in these forums (if you know how to navigate through the BS).
